HydraFacial vs a Regular Facial: Which Should You Book?
By The Snip & Style Aesthetics Team
The HydraFacial is one of the most-requested treatments on our aesthetics menu — but plenty of clients aren’t sure how it differs from a classic facial, or whether the upgrade is worth it for their skin. Here’s the honest version we give in the treatment room.
The core difference: hands vs machine
A classic facial is a hands-on ritual — cleanse, exfoliate, steam, extractions, a mask and massage, tailored to your skin on the day. It’s relaxing, deeply cleansing and brilliant value.
A HydraFacial uses a patented vortex device that cleanses, exfoliates and extracts while simultaneously infusing hydrating and antioxidant serums. It’s more clinical, more consistent, and needs no downtime — you can wear makeup the same day.
What a HydraFacial does best
Because the extraction is done by gentle suction rather than manual pressure, it suits congested, oily or blackhead-prone skin without the redness manual extractions can leave.
The serum infusion step is where the glow comes from — it’s a strong pick before an event, a wedding or photos, when you want skin looking its best within 24 hours.
When a classic facial is the better call
If your priority is relaxation, a deep cleanse and a treatment that adapts to dry, sensitive or mature skin, a tailored facial often delivers exactly what you need at a lower price.
Many of our regulars rotate the two — a monthly classic facial for maintenance, and a HydraFacial before big occasions.
How often, and aftercare
Most skin does well with a facial every 4–6 weeks, in step with its renewal cycle. Whichever you choose, the results last longest with daily SPF and a simple, consistent home routine — your aesthetician will recommend products that match your skin.
